Urban Outfitters - Own Your Expression: A Black History Month Celebration

Designer: Nicole Morris Art Direction & Creative Direction: Nicole Morris, Jackie Jensen, & Victoria May

Art Direction & Overall Concept

Through visual support, I wanted to amplify the collaborations as the forefront to the design. To achieve this, I was drawn to the visuals and nostalgia feelings of a yearbook. It both showcases the individuals and their differences and similarities as a group while creates a sense of solidarity through a common unifier, such as a school or college but in this case Urban Outfitters. I wanted each person to have special moment without UO being that said moment.

I wanted this to feel both serious and information but at the end of the day, be about individuality. Instead of lumping everyone into one Black History Month group, I really wanted the special and unique personality of each collaborator to be the focus. The tone will change person to person, as all people have their own spin on life.
